Well here is a sneaky peak at the end result of previous blips. Sometime ago I hand dyed, using procion dye, some egyptian cotton to make a beautiful array of warm reds and golds.. I designed a wall hanging for a local competition sponsored by the Quilters Guild with the theme of 'East'. My design is to show the pyramids of richly coloured spices. These are the hand dyed cottons, representing the poverty of some of the Eastern countries. This is in contrast to the bright and luscious hand dyed velvet jewels which reflect the wealth of this area. Both together work to offer a rich vibrant culture. .......or something along those lines!

The wall hanging will be displayed at the Makit Show on 11 May - so another reason for a girlie day out! Today was the day that M and I drove to March to submit our entries.
