François Mitterand Library

One of the two sites of the Biblioteque National de France--a view from the entrance area, which is new since last year. I mainly visited an exhibition of photos by Jean-Pierre Bonfort, "Sur les pas de Louis Barthas, 1914-1918"--Barthas was a French solider in the First World War, and wrote a long chronicle of his experiences. Bonfort's images display the places where he had been. An impressive show.

Here's a view taken nearly ten years ago, probably of the same two towers. (Don't inspect it too closely--it's less than perfectly merged, vertically.) I've marked the location from which I took this image precisely on the map. This is an image from last year.
