Welcome Home!

I've been away from home for nine days...Nothing makes a homecoming quite as special as Death From The Sky in the form of a Red-shouldered Hawk. This one, I'm told, has been making daily visits to our pond. Sitting about five feet above the surface of the water on a plant hook, she perches patiently and waits... Earlier in the week she scored a large bullfrog. Today, after terrorizing the pondlife for a half hour or so, she flew off. The pond's citizens breathed a collective sigh of relief!

Ms Hawk was kind enough to turn completely around so that I might snap a photo of her beautiful back feathers. You can see them too...HERE:)
