Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Liberty Enlightening the world

Right now it's cold and hailing in NYC. Quite a change -but we had a wonderful day . The rain held off for our early tour of lady liberty . Not crowded. Very windy and low clouds making NYC shorter (!) - see Nik on the boat. We learned all sorts of things we didn't know ...also about Ellis Island . Nik answered all our guide's questions and asked a hundred more - nothing shy about him ( I would never have done that). And now we have to do a little more research about our ancesters. - my mom's family came thru Ellis island. Our cool tour guide happened to be a photographer. (!) so took our pix on Ellis Island without the statue coming out of anyone's head ! This will probably be the only pix we have that shows we're all here .... Wind blown and damp so I had to include it here...We had a much needed sit down big yummy lunch at Stone St Tavern on an old colonial cobblestone st . and went thru the beautiful museum of the American Indian but then totally pooped out and couldn't walk one more block ( gave up on ground zero for today) so took a taxi back to hotel for a needed nap before heading out in heavy rain to broadway for the show Wicked. WOW-very fun! Enuf for one day!
We've promised Nik we can get up later tomorrow!!
