To the Woods

My sister and I, took her dog Poppy, for a long walk through Wyre Forest , walking along the old railway track then dropping down to Dowles Brook and walking past some of the ancient mills situated there. This one is called Knowles Mill and contains an exhibition about its history including a link with John Constable, the painter - a distant ancestor ( the name 'Constable ' was passed down through the family on my Mum's side and my Great Granny was called ' Annie Norton Constable Wraight.' It was the perfect time of the year to be in the forest- just gorgeous with wood anenomes, violets and cowslips.
Spent the afternoon with my niece and great- nieces in the garden ( a water fight may have been involved!)
