Japanese Dinner

We've always been fans of Japanese food and eat lots of rice with Japanese toppings. But ever since my husband (then boyfriend) spent a year living and working in Japan, we occassionally like to make a bit more effort on a Friday or Saturday and do a bit more of an elaborate Japanese dinner. On this occassion we had (from left to right) edamame in their pods, teriyaki chicken, sesame and carrot salad, mange tout fried in miso, gyoza, and wakame and chilli salad. Of course there were bowls of sticky rice to go alongside, and to drink we had soba-cha (buckwheat tea) from the authentic wooden Japanese teapot my husband sent me for Christmas while he was out there.
