The Estuary at Ravenglass

It rained overnight Wednesday and Thursday morning, Basil and I woke to low cloud and ominous skies.

So we travelled on the L'al Ratty Railway (the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway) from Dalegarth to Ravenglass. Ravenglass stands on the estuary where three rivers meet the sea, including the River Esk.

It's a very pleasant little village with a green fronting the estuary. The tide was out, stranding several sailing boats on the mud flats.
