Unreal Hare

Up early to sort the mystery pipe in the garage. A little background for you (contain yourselves). As you may be aware we bought a house that needed a lot of work. We have stuck a bit on the back, built a kitchen done lots of stuff. Next on the list is an bathroom for H and I, an ensuite if you will. This issue is that there is no soil pipe at that end of the house so in order to remove the 'waste' we will need to undertake some rather ambitious civil engineering to get a pipe to the sewer. Then we found a pipe that disappeared into the garage floor. It looks like a soil pipe but there was a blockage. So I engineered to remove the obstruction (a log and not of that sort of log!). Then Darren and his dad Peter arrived to work out where the water went (Peter is a builder). After lifting all the drain covers in the street and pouring many buckets of water down the hole we came to the conclusion that it was nothing more than a soakaway to drain the garage in the event of a flood!

After removing all the crap in the garage to get to the pipe it seemed fair to take most of it to the tip ;)

After lunch Poppy announced we were going for a bike ride so we went off down the Roman road for a few miles. It was excellent, sunny and lovely and we say 2 hares, real ones playing in a field. It was a brilliant thing to see and Poppy was really pleased to see them. Alas no pictures so I took this one of our new Hare ornament to give you an idea (his is unsurprisingly called Hartley).

Last day of holiday, we've had a great time and got a massive amount done (way over 10% Dave:)) but back to work and school tomorrow..

H and I are now watching a film about Liberace, Michael Douglas is marvellous (say that in a camp way !).
