Sacred Space

Day 2 in York, dash down a small alleyway to escape the massed ranks of tourists & shoppers & found the wonderful Holy Trinity Goodramgate, described as “a real find – if you can find it!” There’s no gas, no electricity, no running water, just amazing atmospheric light and an inner chapel; at one time isolated from the main body of the church to allow lepers to participate in services and see the altar using a squint hole in the wall. With box pews & candle lighting this is an amazing building, sadly, rarely used as a place of worship.
