Greenwich

On Saturday, we took a trip to Greenwich. It sort of felt like a holiday within a holiday. It's been on my to do list for some time. It was even fun getting there as we took the Docklands Light Railway which has no driver and is fully automated, you can sit right up, and pretend to be the driver, which is what Elise did!
There's a lot to do in Greenwich but only so much that time and funds will allow in one day. So we headed for the Cutty Sark, this is the ship's hull. An amazing recent restoration shows the beautifully crafted copper hull, it's huge! Built in Scotland (Greenock) in 1869, and commanded the waves with cargoes of tea and wool. Quite amazing engineering for the time.

We then headed to Greenwich Market, loads of local art and crafts and the obligatory pint in the local :-)
Saturday done!
Ciao
