Lyon arrival

I posted something very similar four years ago on a previous trip to France which also began in Lyon. This time we're here because of Carl's nephew's christening tomorrow.

Our flight was at the wonderfully sensible time of 1:00 pm rather then the all-too-frequent early-morning nonsense, so we arrived in Lyon nicely refreshed two hours later. The blip shows the light-rail terminal which links the airport and the city centre via the Rhone Express. My hotel turned out t be right beside the point of arrival in the city, and we remembered it from last time when we passed time there while waiting for the train to take us on to Marseilles. This time I checked in and then we made our way by metro and bus to Carl's sister's place in Collonge au Mont d'Or, a beautiful suburb to the northwest of the city.

Nicole (formerly Nicola) laid on a beautiful meal, and I got the bus and metro back to my hotel at 10:00 pm.
