Easdale taxis

We arrived yesterday on Easdale Island in fairly driving rain. To get there you go from Oban to the island of Seil, across the only bridge over the Atlantic until you come to Ellenabeich. There you call for a small open motor boat with a capacity of 12 people and cross the short stretch of water to Easdale. this boat carries all supplies and even helps people take large items of furniture on and off the island. The ferrymen are incredibly friendly and helpful. On arrival you find that there are no roads and that you carry all of your supplies with you to your cottage. Most houses, however, have a wheelbarrow into which you pack your goods and chattels. This can be a godsend. No-one locks the doors of their houses, which seems strange but welcome when you come from a city.
