Nobody home

Ah it's been a tough time for bees. I lost my strong colonies through vandalism and rescued a swarm, probably a 3rd caste, from a tree. I tried to nurse them through the winter. Alas, it wasn't to be, they haven't survived. No queen laying, no food being stored, no activity, nothing.

I shall have to search out a new swarm, or colony, and start again.
