Bienenfleißig

Which if you didn't know, is "busy as a bee".

Thursdays being my especially busy day, I must say thanks to the cats for the half five Katzenterror (British half five i.e. 5:30 and not German half five i.e. 4:30). Oh and the bus drivers for their strike today. The one that only affected the buses that go anywhere near my office. I saw all of the other buses but mine were conspicuous by their absence.

Add a packed day in the office and then 3 hours of German talking/teaching (my German teacher is gettting to grips with her new technology and not quite believing that it really is as simple as I show her).

We also had time to read my new favourite poem. Erich Kästner is best known for his children's books (most famously Emil and the Detectives) but he also wrote quite a lot of poetry.

The poem I link to up there is the first poem that I've read in German and really understood without having to ask questions. I will try to read some more.

I would have tried to provide an English translation but I'm no poet and the poem is so beautiful in the German. Really.
