Goodbye tram

Here is our private tram leaving us behind on the main city marketplace in Helsinki, having taken us on two loops through southern and northern Helsinki. What a civilised way to see the city - in a hired tramcar. We were plied with drinks (non alcoholic) and canapes, and regaled with a modicum of useful information by a guide.

This came at the end of a busy day of meetings. First, I met some friends and colleagues to exchange some 'gossips' (as they say), and then I met with colleagues in a (new to me) network in which my Institute used to be active (and will be again).

After the train tour, we had a fantastic meal courtesy of our hosts.

More of the same tomorrow - meetings that is, not such tourism.
