The tree felling went on for the second day! The girth of this tree is very surprising, as it was wedged next to a fence bordering a grassy path, between two sheds and the garages!
After this one was finished off, they took down another, lighter one growing at the bottom of the drive, which hasn't made very much difference from the garden side. But it might have fallen towards the road, so it had to go. Who planted these leylandi? Previous owners, not us!!
After the tree surgeons had gone, the garden seemed very quiet without the roaring of the machinery, and the birds began to sing again.
