Medieval New York

How weird is it to wake up in Edinburgh then have a late afternoon stroll round New York City?! The flight all very straightforward, with good films and surprisingly good lasagne. Amazingly, very quick transit through customs etc. arrived at my host's in Washington heights and walked round to the Cloisters museum. Built by the Rockerfeller family in the 1930s as the only  museum for medieval exhibits in the USA. So odd to see parts of church and castle walls and windows, statues and tapestries from Europe transposed to here in NYC.  This beautiful tapestry was from the 15th century ....lovely unicorn.
Then back through gorgeous spring gardens in warm sunshine on the banks of the Hudson River, and frozen margaritas with fresh guacamole. Heaven. Tonight, friends of my host are coming for dinner and bringing NY cheesecake :)
