Hart's-tongue Fern

Today's the day .............................. to unfurl

Lots of ferns in the garden just now are just starting to make their presence felt.

The great thing is that we didn't plant any of them. They were here when we came to live in this house. Perhaps someone did introduce them into the garden at some point - but I prefer to think that they just found their own way somehow.

It's these bits of my garden that I like most - the places where plants are growing just as they would in the natural world - but I can just step out of my back door and have them all to myself.

That's probably a bit selfish, isn't it ...........................?
