Octavia Hill's Well

When reading the inscription on this well I was surprised by the inside of the roof .

The inscription reads "Octavia Hill sank this well for the use of the Villagers 1898". The village is the hamlet of Toy's Hill in Kent. Octavia Hill was a great social reformer/ philanthropist and was one of the 3 co-founders of the National Trust. The terrace on which the well stands was one of her first gifts to the Trust.

There is also a geocache hidden in it.
