Simple Pleasures

I've always thought that one of the joys of living in Edinburgh is that it has large green public areas. In some you can feel in the heart of the countryside. They're not parks in the normal sense of the word but very large areas in which to walk or cycle. They offer a lot of visual and recreational pleasure. One of the best known areas near the city centre is the Meadows which is usually busy with people cutting through in all directions. I was there just before lunchtime today. Although there have been many blips of cherry blossom, it is almost impossible to avoid. There are several avenues of blossom trees. This is one of the quieter ones. Probably best enjoyed in large.
