Ladybird lunch......

Not only are my windows in desperate need of a good wash, but my garden needed a big tidy too.

I haven't mowed the lawns in over 2 weeks and whilst the hot weather has meant that there's not a lot of grass growth, that certainly couldn't be said for the weeds! Anyway, I finally got round to trimming the edges and mowing the lawns today. Yay!

Whilst on hands and knees trimming I spied a couple of ladybirds. I knelt and watched this one devour an entire aphid in just a few large gulps - which makes me feel just a little badly about the plan I had to spray for aphids later. I don't want to be the spoilsport who deprives her of lunch tomorrow!
