MOM!!!

Mom, look at me! Mom, can I walk on this log? Mom, are we going swimming? Mom! Mommy, is this stuff good to eat? Mom, why are all these people looking at me? Mom, why are my feet so big? Mom! Mommy!!!

Bill and I went to Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden today. What a lovely day it was, too. We only saw one baby...this one. I don't know if it's too early for the little ducks and geese, or what...but this one was pretty cute. You can see more of our trip and more of this little gosling in this Flickr album. It starts with a blurry image of a restaurant that we passed, then a photo of some flowers by a beautiful stairway leading to a magnificent house across from Reed College in SE Portland, where the gardens are. Then a bunch of photos of the gardens, the lake, the pond, the ducks, a friendly dog who is the type that demands to be petted 24-7 by ANYBODY and EVERYBODY. What a sweetie. We also went to lunch and then went to a big garden nursery, so it was a nice outing for us.

Our son found a place that he put a deposit on. It's not too far from his work and he won't have to travel on any freeways to get to and from his new apartment, (and it is a brand new building!) so he is happy about that. If all goes well, and we don't know why it wouldn't, he'd move sometime in June, I guess. I got a little confused as to his timeline....so we have to find out more, I guess. Also he is off to a new job within UPS. He will be a full time truck washer...those brown trucks have to be washed and kept nice you know. I realize that does not sound very challenging, but he will be happy not handling packages anymore and also getting away from one supervisor who drove him bonkers. Decent pay, good benefits, and so far a decent pension...which we hope will stay that way....so it's not a bad gig over all. He will be working until 2 in the morning, but he's done that before and it isn't a concern for him.
