That hairy old chestnut!

Sorry - awful play on words. It's a young Horse Chestnut tree actually, with branches low enough for me to get up close with the flowers ... which are hairy ... not hoary in the usual sense. Never noticed before the two colours of flower on the one tree .... I reckon the pink markings are on flowers already pollinated while the yellow ones will still be attracting the bees!

Lucky escape tonight. My camera spent an hour sitting on the ground outside the back door of the shop I worked in today. Too many bags and an unfamiliar set of keys in the dark. Only realised when I got home and had an extra 20 mile round trip to collect it.
