Happy May Day!

Dear Diary,

Today is May Day and the first day of Summer according to the Celtic calendar. Didn't feel very summery here in Maine where it was in the 40's yesterday but it gives one hope. I love the memory of making little crepe paper baskets to fill with flowers, usually pansies. We would hang them on neighbors door handles. No one does that anymore I'm afraid. But May Day is still pansy and viola day for me and I put them in my railing baskets by the door to celebrate the day.
