Coping with Sidney's Death

I'm not the only one dealing with Sidney's passing today. Sammy cat is his sister. Isabelle consoles her.

I have Sidney's grave half way dug. The slate in the ground makes for tough shoveling. I will be putting Sidney in the ground tomorrow. His body is still in the carrier in the car. I've removed all the bottles of meds from the shelf and packed them up to go to the vet for her use. I've been pulling apart the blanket chest he decorated to use as a planter outside. It stinks of urine as does India's neck - well her neck mildly smells still. I have been washing it every few hours to get the smell out. It's a reminder of why Sidney had to go.

It's one of the worst days ever.
