Life is like a river

Boys and birds

I felt a bit better today and in the afternoon I went for a walk in the woods (Kjarnaskógur) with Berglind. We met those two boys in the parking lot and started chatting since one of them recognized me from when he was in my care in kindergarten...many years ago :)
We took a look at the birds nest they were holding and asked why they had it in their possession? Long story was told, but something about it having fallen down a tree and they decided to try and return it...or just keep it, since the egg was cold and the bird would not want it anymore.
When we had walked for a while and were almost back to the car we saw them again and this time they were actually about to climb a tree and take a nest from it. They had obviously decided to ignore the fact it would be damaging to the bird and it's nesting. Berglind had a good talk with them and hopefully they'll stop this behavior in the woods.
Some might say boys will be boys, but still...they need to learn what is right and what is wrong.
