Wanderings & Witterings

A Nice Setting

Spent a good part of Friday at a meeting in Glasgow. It was held in The Lighthouse, a building that has the tagline "Scotland's Centre for Design and Architecture". And a fine setting it was too.

That building was the first publicly-commissioned work designed by the architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh and it has a floor dedicated to an exhibition of his work and legacy. One of the exhibits is a rather grand (in my eyes) place-setting for dinner. Sure beats sitting in front of the TV with a lap-tray delicately poised on one's knees!
