Rusty Rail - Hirundo rustica

An interesting day.

After first visiting a solo exhibition of photos by a member of Kirkcaldy Photographic Society (in The Mercat), I popped down to the local harbour.

There was a serious birder there with BIG camera gear trying to get images of swallows in flight. I was satisfied to accept this one perching on a rusty rail.

While he was concentrating on that, there were sand martins nesting in the harbour wall behind him. No. not digging holes in solid stone but utilising old pipe holes already there.
