Always Show Photographers Your Best Side Dear

We took a trip to Arundel this afternoon and while the ladies looked round the shops, I took my cameras up to Swanbourne Lake. On the way there I passed this moorhen with four healthy chicks.
She was also much more tolerant of human presence than the birds I am used to seeing back in Fife. She just sat there as a constant stream of the public passed just a few feet away.

Further up the stream, a pair of mallard were showing off their dozen offspring, bringing them right up to people's feet.

Up at the lake itself, and away from the car park, things were more natural and there was even a male shelduck on the water.
