Porlezza and Thunder storm

Weather forecast was not good so we decided to see if we could find a garden centre in Porlezza for some ties for the jasmine in the garden. The garden centres we found were all closed but we managed a walk around the town and had lunch in Porlezza which is a town on the Italian side of the border on Lake Lugano. There are quite a few supermarkets in the vicinity which I think cater also for shoppers from Switzerland trying to save some money on the weekly grocery shop. As we left Porlezza there was a crash of thunder.

On return to Lenno we got the idea there was a craft market down at the lake. Although it was becoming quite cloudy we took umbrellas and headed out. Just as we reached the lake it started to rain. We took shelter in the Bar Golf. Before long we heard thunder and the saw lightening flashes.

The rain became absolutely torrential and mixed with hail. It became quite cold and so we had to go inside for some warmth. The rain finally stopped and we headed for home via the Fabbrica del Gelato. The sun came out later but we could still hear the thunder in the distance.

Disappointing race for Ferrari.
