Flaming rain!

After a beautifully sunny morning it turned to rain. I was sitting outside the house having a salad lunch and then settled down to read a book. I was so hot that I moved indoors to get some shade. Ten minutes later it was raining!

The garden positively glowed in the aftermath of the rain, so I took this picture of a branch of Embothrium coccineum, the Chilean Firebush, which grows well here and is a common shrub or tree in temperate Chile.
