Carolina in my Mind

I love this rhododendron, or azalea if you would rather! Rhododendron vaseyi is usually a beautiful pink, but this is the less common white form known as 'White Find', which I think looks amazing with the fresh green of the new foliage. Green and white is a great combination - very cool!

Rhododendron vaseyi comes from North Carolina in the US of A, which is a surprise to some folk as so many rhododendrons are from Asia. 

Lots of lovely rhododendrons out at Arduaine - especially all those tender scented maddenias. Weather's rather changeable though - I was speaking to a visitor not 30 minutes ago who was enjoying the glorious sunshine. 'Probably rain soon', I said, just joking.  Now we have a hailstorm!
