Furl..

and unfurl..

A visit to the Birmingham Botanic Gardens today with a friends garden group. Luckily it was an astonishingly warm and sunny day as we wandered around the lovely 15 acre plot in Edgbaston. The azaleas were wonderful with a heady scent hanging on the breeze as we walked and it was good to spend time with friends whilst enjoying the fruits of other peoples labour. We watched an army of 5 gardeners clipping the hedges and topiary box balls rapidly transforming them in to neat and crisp shapes..and saw the planting of the cactus garden outside, having over-wintered in a greenhouse.

A lovely May day..
