Gillipaw's Journal

After the Bells

It was -7C, and the pavements were sheet ice. I wasn't going to risk taking out my new camera First Footing in case I fell.

We listened to the count down and chimes of Big Ben on BBC Radio in the company of good friends and raised a glass together. After the hugs and warm wishes for 2010, we all trooped out into the garden for fireworks. Quite surreal to be lighting the tapers in such cold temperatures and seeing the sparks falling on thick snow.

Back inside we had some very interesting conversations with people who have lived and worked all over the world. One minute we were in Brazil, the next Turkey, South Africa, then Afghanistan (I mentioned ASG during this chat).

A good start to 2010.
