A time for everything

Together again!

A great day today. This morning, the five of us went for a walk at Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, which is relatively close to where they live. We left Jason at home, making some preparations for tomorrow's dinner - both Jen and Jason love to cook - they're always trying new recipes. The weather, as you can tell from our clothing, was still quite mild, but grey and overcast. We couldn't stay out too long, as we needed to have a fairly early lunch, as Jen had booked us on a boat tour of some of the port area. The Port of Houston extends for 25 miles along the Houston Ship Channel, which links Houston with the Gulf of Mexico. Whilst not a scenic tour, it was a fascinating glimpse into the life of one of the busiest ports in the nation, and we did see quite a bit of bird life too. In the evening, Roger and I and Jen and Laura went to see the Nutcracker ballet at the Wortham Center in the downtown theater district. We left the two "boys" at home "bonding" over video games!!
During our stay at Jen and Jason's, Roger, Laura and I were sleeping in a guest appartment, which was in another building block. We turned in to our guest appartment just in time tonight, as by the time I was getting into bed, having brushed my teeth, we could hear the rain pouring down outside. Tomorrow is supposed to be much cooler.
