Tairua River

Today I am in Tairua which is situated the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsular, New Zealand.
Tairua is a small but beautiful seaside town. In Moari, Tairua means two tides.
This is a very apt description as the town is divided by two areas of water: an estuary which is the mouth of the Tairua River and an Ocean beach.
Between the estuary and the ocean is a thin strip of sandy lowland and a small, extinct volcanic mountain called Paku .
The mountain peaks in the background are known as the Pinnacles.
