Too many hats?

I think so. Nine in the picture, and several that didn't get used, so probably fifteen in total. All but 3 of those pictured were new this year, but anyone who knows me will understand why I brought them :-)

What a fantastic day weather-wise yesterday. Worked on the garden furniture (almost done). Worked on the cloakroom (almost done, but then I've been saying that for several weeks). Worked on Rachel's hedge. About 30 feet long and 8 feet high and it hasn't been cut since last year. Looks so much better now. There's something very satisfying about trimming a bush (yes, pun intended).

The suet block that I pictured last week which had hardly been touched by the birds has been almost totally eaten. It seems that once the birds have discovered it, they keep coming back for more. It just takes them time to find it which is hardly surprising really. In fact, it's quite amazing that they find it in the first place. How do they pick that out as food from all the other stuff in all the other gardens, do they just peck at anything that stands still for long enough until they strike lucky?
