Amma Foundation

After a brief break, back to the Sunday breakfast activity with the Aashayein Foundation. Today we visited a small home run by a single person and houses about 36 kids. The way the gentleman is sustaining the home for years, without any steady source of cash flow is really commendable! As usual, the kids were quite excited to have us there and flocked us the moment we reached there...each one of them made sure that they wish all of us a very happy new year, in person. This was followed by a long string of dance performances by the kids...this has now become a regular feature of all our Sunday visits...wherever we go, the kids are very enthusiastic about displaying their dancing skills.

I also got talking to one of the core members of the Foundation who was explaining the details of some other programs to someone. The amount of detail, planning and research that goes behind each of these seemingly small programs is not at all small. It is pretty much like running a small size company. It is great that some people are able to manage this with their regular professional and personal commitments.

Now, if I can somehow beat this freaking cold, I can sleep in peace tonight!
