Viewpoint. Triund

At 2850m, a climb of 900m in 7km. A bit of a slog, nine hours in total, the last three of which were spent walking downhill under a sequence of thunderstorms as the sky darkened quickly upon us and the path became a sequence of puddles... Some of which were shared with a passing herd of goats and an occasional sheep...the donkeys were too sensible to come out into the rain. Amazing light and colour they missed. But a cold rain it was, and a constant wind....

The way up had been misty, beautiful in places and infused by the odd blast of thunder and hail. At the endpoint, we found ourselves blanketed in mists. Waiting, the clouds cleared a little offering, almost close enough to touch, this final sequence of the high hills. Sadly I thought of the cuillin:-)

And soaked and triumphant, in a downbeat manner...power cut on return, no hot shower...the return.
