Nor'west light

At this time of the year we often get a nor'west arch of clouds to the east of the Southern Alps.

As the sun dips there is a brief few minutes where the sun streams through beneath the cloud cover and before it dips behind more cloud near the level of the mountains.

It creates intense light and vivid colours. As I painted large cards with new test pots of paint I sorted this afternoon, I looked up to see the little tree in my back courtyard awash with light and colour.

Large reminds me of a print

I'm back on track with my paint selection :-)
