Roger Caras, the American wildlife photographer and writer famously wrote:

Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made.

Brodie and Fionne were waiting patiently by the kitchen door for some scraps from the roast dinner. This picture of doggy discipline belies the reality of the situation, as they'd both been banished from the kitchen, repeatedly!

The quality of this is dreadful but I grabbed the camera quickly, as I knew they wouldn't stay there long.
