Vintage revamp

This is one of the pieces that I have been working on. I originally bought it when feeling nostalgic, as my parents had an identical one when we were growing up.
I then decided it needed renovating to bring it into the 21st century.
I took the top part off, as I felt it was too fussy. It is made of solid elm, so although I painted the body of the dresser, I sanded the top and then oiled it to give a water resistant finish. I love to see the grain of the wood.
I'll probably sell it now that I've done all the work, as I'm trying to get rid of furniture ready for when we downsize.
Rain all day here, so I took the opportunity to catch up with the mountain of paperwork.
