Early Marsh Orchid

I went on a lovely walk this afternoon around BBOWT's Pilch Field Nature Reserve in North Bucks. It was great to walk round with Jenny and Ann who know the site well. Ann was even able to find tiny specimens of the very rare plant Moonwort, though none of my photos was very good. We saw lots of orchids - Green-winged almost over now, Common Spotted just coming into flower and a brilliant patch of Early Marsh Orchids, Dactylorhiza incarnata subspecies incarnata, flowering well on a bank just above the edge of a marsh. Nearby were some enormous orchids, not quite open yet, that could be hybrids between Common Spotted and Early Marsh. I think a return visit in a few days is essential.
