Salmo trutta.

It was a gorgeous afternoon so I decided to flyfish the Frome near Stroud Cricket Club.
A battle through some frankly ridiculous undergrowth facilitated a joyful couple of hours and a return of six brownies, all taken on gold-headed Pheasant-tail nymphs. I managed to bring one up to a Klinkhammer as well but missed the take.
The only downside are legs that now sting to buggery. Four foot nettles possess some rare old needles at ankle-level so next time (i.e. tomorrow) it's either gaiters or waders.
