An indoor day

I took my gardening gloves and shoes with me today when we spent the day with son and family. The idea was that we would have a day working in their garden with them, tidying up for the summer. Fortunately Sadly it poured with rain all day so we stayed indoors. The barbecue meats were cooked indoors and the garden stayed untidied. They are reluctant gardeners, and we have trouble keeping up with our own let alone doing someone else's, so we all needed no excuse to stay indoors, chatting and playing a game. Kingsley the cat was on the bed when we arrived in the morning and was still there when we left after tea. Wise cat.

It has been a dreadful day, heavy rain for most of the time. Our journey took us past the site of the Surrey County Show and we felt for everybody who had put so much into the preparation of this large agricultural and commercial show, only to have it washed out like this.
