Indigo Bunting (male)

On a dull day with bits of rain (made the bird even brighter!)--I captured a drop falling, and in large you can just make out couple of drops on the bird itself. This fellow (Passerina cyanea) was incredibly cooperative, and stayed around for several minutes.

We went to the Quabbin Reservoir with our friend Arn--he is a member of our bird club and a wonderful guide. Here's a chestnut-sided warbler from an outing with him just a year ago, with basic information on the Quabbin (more on the link above).

Other good species including yellow-bellied sapsucker, scarlet tanager, and black-bellied cuckoo. Here's a shot of the cuckoo from at least ten years ago at Point Pelee, Ontario.
