Seen in Nimes

Yes, I did play with this a little in iPhoto, but the original scene was not so very different -- a very brief moment on the Nimes railway station platform, caught from my upper level TGV train seat.

The stolid, well-equipped bicyclist was a fine contrast to the pair on the right bidding a fond farewell to one another, with the pastel buildings in the near background and older buildings in the distance making a nice backdrop for this brief encounter.

Our good friends C and J ensured that we returned our rental car and were at the Beziers train station in time to enjoy coffee with them before the first leg of our train journey today, from Beziers to Lyon. The second part, from Lyon to Charles de Gaulle Aeroport, was accomplished without incident as well, other than Phil discovering once we reached the Hyatt hotel near the airport that he'd left his hat somewhere on the journey. As that was purchased at REI in Bellingham, the loss is easily remedied.

It's 10:30 p.m., we finished dinner about half an hour ago, and now we're heading for bed! We have a very long travel day ahead of us on Wednesday, and I'll catch up with you all later this week.
