St. Fiacre's Garden

Dear Diary,

County Wicklow is known as the garden of Ireland and I've so enjoyed visiting the various gardens in the area. This is a sculpture in St. Fiacre's garden near Kildare. A monk of the 7th century, he is often thought of as the patron saint of gardeners. I loved the light on the water and the reflections. The weather has been lovely these last couple of days and Ireland in the sunshine is one of the most beautiful sights in the world!

The sculpture shows St. Fiacre contemplating the tiny seed which holds new life in its shell. All life begins with such a humble start.

Basking in the sunshine....
