An English Rose

I planted this David Austin English rose under my kitchen window for it's beauty and it's heavy scent.
This year I don't think we're going to experience either, as the relentless rain is making mulch of everything.
A busy day for me today and not a lot to show for it. Mr E had a 'near miss' on the motorway due to heavy rain and overtaking lorries. He forgot his phone charger (and he's away for four days) and his annual leave was denied.....all before 5am. Not a good start to his day. He had dinner this evening with an old friend, so things improved for him.
