Torre Abbey

TV Man arrived this morning and set up our Freesat system with the dish placed discreetly on the side of the chalet towards the back.  Visitors wishing to watch the World Cup without loss of signal and pixelation can now rest easy.

Once he'd left I took off to meet Ann and Colin for coffee at Twentysix in Teignmouth.  After, we drove to Torquay to visit Torre Abbey which was hosting a painting exhibition in the Spanish Barn.  The Tithe Barn was built in 1196 to hold grain for the monks.  It is called the Spanish Barn because sailors taken from the defeated Armada were held prisoners there before their trial.

After, we went to the Chelston area of Torquay for a walk round and to look at the houses.  Chelston has a village atmosphere within the town and amongst other things hosts the smallest operating cinema in the UK, seating 24, at the back of a cafe.
